Recommended Lubricant
Molykote 111 Compound is our recommended lubricant for squeaky oarlocks. It's silicone-based, water-resistant, and safe for use on plastics and rubber components.
Why Molykote 111?
Unlike petroleum-based lubricants, Molykote 111 won't degrade plastic or rubber parts over time. It also holds up well in wet and saltwater environments.
How to Apply
- Remove the oarlock and clean the pin and remove any dirt or debris.
- Apply a small amount of Molykote 111 to the pin and sleeve contact points.
- Slide the oarlock onto the pin rotate several times to distribute the lubricant evenly.
- Wipe away any excess.
Reapply as needed, especially after extended use in saltwater conditions.
